Most ‘Trainers’ Lie to Your Face

Habits are the foundation of everything you want to accomplish in life. A habit is a better decision set to automate.

When you focus on doing less better and investing not only in yourself, but in professionals with a proven track record… You cannot go wrong.

I meet a lot of people and a lot of them are ‘personal trainers’ that supposedly benefit the lives of the people they train… But something is missing. Their clients have not dropped bodyfat in weeks, they are tired, bloated, frustrated and uncertain of what to do next… They don’t even know what a PR (personal record) is…

Do you want to row to the shore with an oar or a fork?

This brings me to my next point which is the fitness industry itself and so much of the politics inherent in it today. I try as much as possible to remain impartial to the majority of fitness trends, gadgets and questionable characters that I have met in the industry. When I refer to the fact that my industry rivals gun running in it’s regulatory capacity I know that many coaches will agree with me when I speak about how little ethical considerations are adhered to.

Allow me to contextualize this a bit more. There is not another industry on the planet that proffers as much drugs, pseudoscientific advice and lies like the fitness industry.

In my opinion the biggest reason for this is low margins for profit, extreme competitiveness and greed like you have never seen before.

Standing as a lone observer of this behaviour in the late Lehman Brothers HQ in London I surmise that if I have not seen it all I am pretty close. Fitness business’s rise and fall like the Summer sun, I have on average known over 15-25 of my competitiors duck and run in recent years and many of them are dead before the age of 50. If I told you that ‘anti-ageing’ was this you are supposed to run a mile. Most people dont or have never known better.

The reason that I elaborate so much on ethics in this regard is that business’s like most projects fail not for want of capital, creative staff or location but for a lack of client centric outcomes. If you are good at what you people will always speak about it, what does the average trainer have in the way of result based evidence to prove their expertize? Nothing.

Now just imagine what it would be like seeing these individuals come into an industry and leave every Summer because they wanted to earn a little extra cash on the side?

These are the class based, Summer spinoff fad promoting liars that promote health and fitness while on drugs. They are the literal fear mongering idiots of our industry and as a result they use their lie to promote themselves shamelessly. After all everybody is just jealous right?

If the client is constantly injured, specific details of the clients journey, programming and progress are never tracked then that is a problem for somebody else.

I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to fall for the lies, laziness and thrill seeking burnout of the crossfit concept or the bodybuilding weekend stripper.

You don’t need drugs, needles, HIT or any other fad like products to get the results these are  promoting to increase their sales, revenue per hour or memberships. How do I know?

I know because I have been a part of changing people’s lives for the last decade. I know because I have experiemented primarily on myself and many, many other people. I know because I am in the industry when it is good, bad and everything in between.

This concept of quality over quantity is not new. In fact not much has changed in the industry for the last 40 years except for faces and a lot of them. Currently the class based business model is the leading service offering for class mediocre results in the industry today. Yet, most of these ‘routines’ break bodies down and do not build them back up.

You may ask, ‘well who cares’?

Well, I care. I care becauuse in 90% of cases clients sent on the get fit or die trying end up far worse off long term. Obesity rebounds in 90% of cases, lower body injuries are common, motor pattern dysfunction the norm. Recently I’ve had to help a lady with her fatloss after so much metabolic damage what should have taken 4 weeks has taken a year.

Dont fall for an ignorant, money driven appraoch to your ehalth, wellness and training. I know you know better because when you wake up in the morning you are the one sitting with the lethargy and frustration of not being where you want to be.

That is the cycle of a industry interested in only one thing; more of your money. Don’t fall for their antics and chest thumping, longevity and quality of life are the real solutions. depth not breadth remember 🙂

Do you want to know what it feels like to have a fit healthy body that is easier to maintain than traditional high intensity workout regimes? When was the last time you woke up ready to go with a great appetite for life?

When did you last play with the dog, kids or your family and feel a deep sense of satisfaction brought about by hours of play?

Honestly. The industry used to worry me so much, now I live my dream and help other people live theirs. While there is no substitute for hard work, is buying a challenge from another obese unhealthy person the smart thing to do?

Well I guess you know now why my results are documentable and available for review at any moment. I do less better, so should you.
